Centipede

 

  • Classification of service:  covered under General Pest Control
  • These insects have one pair of legs per body segment.
  • Usually have large antenna on their heads and a semi-flat body.
  • Centipedes feed on insects and spiders at night.
  • These insects are considered occasional invaders.
  • If provoked, larger centipedes can bite causing some pain and slight swelling in the bite area.
  • Most centipedes cannot penetrate human skin to inject venom.  If they do, most bites are not serious.
